Length and vertical access together

The 40ft open top is a specialist unit and the people who need one usually know exactly why. Long structural steel. Milled timber. Pipe and pole. Machinery that has to be lowered rather than pushed. Project cargo that defeats every standard container.

How it works

Removable steel roof bows carry a tarpaulin across the top. The door end header lifts out for full-height access. Load from above with a crane, or from the end once the header is removed, then close everything back down for transport or storage.

Weight, not just volume

Open tops are frequently used for dense cargo, and payload limits matter. If you are loading steel, stone or machinery, tell us the weight when you enquire — not just the dimensions. A container that fits the load but cannot legally carry it is no use to anyone.

Availability and condition

Open tops see hard service, and used units reflect it. Tarp condition varies considerably. We will describe what we actually have rather than a generic listing, and if the tarp needs replacing we will tell you upfront.
