If your site holds drums of flammable liquid, agricultural chemicals, solvents or corrosives in any real quantity, this is the unit that makes it compliant and defensible. It is what auditors expect to see.

Specification

A bunded floor sized to contain a proportion of the stored volume, as required by the applicable standard. Natural or mechanical ventilation engineered to the hazard class. Compliant internal shelving and restraint. Correct placarding. Electrical fittings appropriate to the classification where fitted.

Separation is not optional

Incompatible goods cannot share a store. Oxidisers and flammables together is the classic and dangerous error. If you are storing across classes, you may need a partitioned unit or more than one container. Siting and licensing

Separation distances from boundaries, buildings and ignition sources are set by regulation and enforced locally. Quantities above threshold levels may require licensing. These obligations sit with you as the occupier, and requirements differ between states.
