20ft Bulk and Grain Container

A 20ft with loading hatches cut into the roof. Fill it from above by auger or conveyor, discharge at the door end. Built for grain, feed and dry bulk.

Bulk handling without silo infrastructure

Silos are excellent and expensive and permanent. A bulk container gives you a large sealed volume you can fill from above and move when the season changes. For on-farm storage, feed handling and seasonal overflow, it is a fraction of the capital cost.

How they are configured

Typically two or three hatches along the roof for auger or conveyor filling, and discharge arrangements at the door end. Configurations vary between units and we will describe the specific one we have rather than a generic spec.

Weight before volume

This is the critical point with bulk. Grain is heavy. A 20ft filled to the roof with wheat will exceed payload limits long before it runs out of space. Work in tonnes, not cubic metres, and tell us the commodity and density when you enquire so we can confirm the container suits.

Moisture and pests

Seal condition matters far more here than on a general purpose container, because both moisture ingress and vermin access will destroy a load. We check seals specifically on bulk units.

Cleaning

If you are changing commodity — particularly in or out of treated seed — plan for thorough cleaning between loads.

When you enquire about a bulk container for sale, lead with the commodity and its density. Weight, not volume, is what limits these.
